Final Self Potraits

My Artist Statement

1)  I joined Photography 1 because I love to take pictures and I wanted to learn new things to help me. I also wanted to know how to photoshop pictures to make them better. Another reason was because I wanted to be able to do some cool tricks with the camera that I haven't learned before.

2)  I have learned that photography is more than just a photo. I learned that its about what the picture is portraying or what the theme of it is. This taught me to look deeper in photos and what the point of it is not just if its a good picture.

3)  Photography helped me learn about myself that I can do good work with practice and dedication. It also has taught me that photography displays many things sometimes its about your life and feelings and sometimes its about others.

4)  There were many obstacles to overcome this semester. The one that was hardest for me was using a phone for a camera. This was hard for me because I couldn't use all the features that a real camera had so I would have to improvise for a lot of things.

5)  A project that I enjoyed most was the macro photos. I really like taking pictures of plants and nature so I was able to get close up on things like Leaves, Water, Trees and much more. Macro is by far my favorite type of photos.

6)  A project that I would Re-do is the clone project. I would Re-do this one because I didn't really get to do a good clone because I was a difficult one to finish since there were many factors to take into consideration like keeping the camera in the same spot while taking more photos.

7-8)  I used a Lion in my final project. I used a lion because it symbolizes pride. I put a lion on half of my face to symbolize that pride only makes up half of someone, the other half is what you choose and you shouldn't have so much pride or else your going to be over confident.

9)  When someone looks at my final project I would want them to feel a connection to themselves. This would have them step back and look at themselves and determine how much pride they have.

10)  One thing that I would tell a future photography student to help them succeed is that there photos should have a meaning to them. I would tell them that Photography can be very strong and influential so they should take pride in there art.
